Electronics Service Division Brings 60 Jobs to Newly Renovated Facility

(Gwinnett – Metro Atlanta News) May 24, 2012 – Joined by Partnership Gwinnett, the Gwinnett Chamber and a host of organizations and leaders, Encompass Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. – a market leader in supply chain management, parts distribution and repair services for a wide range of high-tech products and consumer electronics – recently celebrated the grand opening of one of the company’s divisional headquarters in Gwinnett County, Metro Atlanta, Georgia. The grand opening, which highlighted the creation of 60 jobs, featured a tour of the distribution center and the newly renovated high-tech product repair facility. Initial capital investment was estimated at a quarter of a million dollars, and the project represents another win for the nationally-recognized community and economic development initiative, Partnership Gwinnett.

“Gwinnett County has proven to be an ideal strategic location for our customers and our employees, and we look forward to continuing to grow our operations in the area,” said Robert Coolidge, Encompass President & CEO.

Patrick Joseph, executive vice president and general manager of the Encompass Service Solutions division, which relocated to Gwinnett County from Florida, said the resources and talent in the area are unmatched.

“As providers of highly technical repair services, we are in need of specialized skill sets, which we are able to draw upon from the Gwinnett County and surrounding labor pool,” said Joseph. “With access to this caliber of talent, we can more easily expand our services into new product categories.”

Existing operations at the ESS facility, located at 775 Tipton Industrial Drive in Lawrenceville, include repair services for a host of electronic products, such as entertainment systems, tablet and laptop computers, printers, GPS units and medical equipment. Distribution, inventory management, accounting, call center and IT jobs are also based out of the Gwinnett location.

“Congratulations to Encompass on its grand opening,” said Chris Cummiskey, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. “We’re pleased the company is taking advantage of Georgia’s robust business climate to put down roots and become an integral part of the community.”

“Encompass’s decision to relocate their Service division to Gwinnett, leading to the creation of 60 new jobs in our community, is a testament to the vibrant business environment Gwinnett offers,” said Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash. “We are pleased to have them in our community.”

“Encompass’s relocation brings quality jobs in a targeted industry to our community,” said City of Lawrenceville Mayor Judy Johnson. “We are pleased they have chosen Lawrenceville as their choice location for doing business in Georgia. We look forward to a continued strong and vibrant partnership with them.”

Georgia Quick Start, through Gwinnett Technical College, has assisted Encompass in preparing new hires for work in the growing Gwinnett operations.

“We’re proud to be working with Encompass as their Quick Start training partner to support the expansion of their Gwinnett operations. Providing the education and training Encompass needs for these new employees is a vital part of our workforce development mission,” explained Sharon Bartels, President of Gwinnett Technical College. “Encompass has a well-earned reputation for excellence in customer service and supply chain management, and we look forward to contributing to their continued success.”

Encompass is continuing to diversify into vertical markets beyond consumer electronics and seeking to provide comprehensive end-to-end supply chain management services outside distribution. As they add new outsourcing clients, Encompass will scale their workforce accordingly.

“It has been exciting to work with Encompass through their relocation to the final grand opening, which represents new jobs and economic investment in the community,” said Troels Adrian, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Project Manager at Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development. “It is our goal through Partnership Gwinnett to help companies like Encompass grow and expand in Gwinnett.”
