(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) August 24, 2016 – Halocarbon Products Corporation (Halocarbon), a leading worldwide producer of specialty fluorochemicals, non-flammable oils, greases and waxes, and inhalation anesthetics, joined Georgia Department of Economic Development, Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development and the City of Peachtree Corners to announce the location of its corporate headquarters in the City of Peachtree Corners, Gwinnett County, metro Atlanta, Georgia.
“The relocation makes access to our company’s manufacturing site in North Augusta, South Carolina, much faster and easier while allowing Halocarbon to tap into a larger pool of innovative, collaborative, and tech-savvy talent,” said David Bacon, CEO of Halocarbon. “The look and feel of our new headquarters reflects the evolving personality of our company: progressive, forward-looking and highly accessible. We are very excited to begin the next phase of Halocarbon’s growth here in metro Atlanta.”
The corporate headquarters, located at 6525 The Corners Parkway, is home to the company’s executive team. The company also plans to add additional staff to this location over the next one to two years.
“Gwinnett’s close proximity to major cities in the Southeast was a leading factor in Halocarbon’s decision to locate their headquarter operation to the area,” stated Ashley Morris, Project Manager, Georgia Department of Economic Development. “Access to I-85 and the world’s most traveled airport make Gwinnett appealing to businesses from a logistical standpoint, but when you couple those assets with the thriving socioeconomic scene in the community, you get a great place to live, work, learn and play.”
Halocarbon is one of the world’s leading producers of specialty fluorochemicals. Halocarbon’s products include fluorochemicals for pharmaceutical and agricultural manufacturing, inhalation anesthetics for the human and veterinary markets, inert lubricants and other specialty products.
“We welcome Halocarbon to Gwinnett County and are excited they have chosen to locate their business here,” stated Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chair Charlotte Nash. “This announcement is yet another excellent example of how our strong technology and bioscience cluster continues to draw companies, like Halocarbon, to expand and locate in our community.”
“Halocarbon’s decision to invest in Peachtree Corners speaks to the strength of our community and the economic vitality of this area,” said Peachtree Corners Mayor Mike Mason. “With access to a skilled workforce and significant infrastructure, companies like Halocarbon are able to locate their business here with confidence.”
Halocarbon, founded in 1950, is a pioneer in the industry and has built their reputation on a long list of firsts including, being the first U.S. producer of operating-room safe fluorinated anesthetics, the world’s first large-scale producer of trifluoroacetic acid and trifluoroethanol, both widely used to make pharmaceutical and agricultural chemicals, and the first U.S. company to produce generic halothane.

The Gwinnett Economic Development team works to attract and support headquarter locations, like Halocarbon, and bring further investment to the County.
