World-class manufacturer creates 50 new jobs

(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) June 30, 2014 – Hussmann, Corp., in partnership with Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development and the Georgia Department of Economic Development announced the addition of new skilled trade jobs at their facility in Gwinnett County, Georgia today. A leader in the manufacturing, selling, installing, and servicing of display equipment and refrigeration systems in the retail food industry, Hussmann’s workforce expansion will add 50 jobs to metro Atlanta, through Georgia Quick Start.

“We are excited to expanding our skilled workforce in Gwinnett. The additional positions will dramatically improve our production efficiencies, to better serve our clients,” stated Andre King, Human Resources Manager for Hussmann. “We are continually increasing our refrigeration systems area operation and this investment is a first step toward our sustained growth.”

Hussmann will host a Skilled Trades Career Fair on Tuesday, July 1 and Wednesday, July 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Gwinnett Technical College, 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway, in Lawrenceville, GA. Georgia Quick Start is a free customized training program that helps companies maintain a competitive advantage by preparing workers with specific skill sets that they are seeking to develop in their employees. Training is conducted in classrooms, mobile labs or onsite at the company and is provided at no charge by the Technical College System of Georgia.

Hussmann’s Quick Start training was provided through Gwinnett Technical College. The college will provide additional support for their ongoing training needs.
