This week’s team spotlight shines on our Associate Project Manager, Jalisa Murphy. Since beginning her new role in March, Jalisa has been an integral part in database tracking and international company lists.

Describe your role at Partnership Gwinnett (PG)?

I support the project team in existing industry visits, project RFIs, prospect tours, and establishing project collaboration by organizing data and tracking important milestones.

Tell us a little bit more about your background

Before joining Partnership Gwinnett, I worked as an Associate Project Manager in IT for Sheetz Inc. (headquartered in Altoona, Pennsylvania), which is a chain of convenience stores that sells a mix of fast food and convenience store items as well as gasoline. Sheetz has over 600 locations in the Northeast and is a mecca for people on the go. While at Sheetz, I participated in several internal functions to include coordinating IT projects, maintaining a project management database, and working alongside the IT security team to ensure credit card safety at all point of sales.

Favorite part about working at Partnership Gwinnett?

Being new to PG and Gwinnett County as well, I have enjoyed the community involvement my position provides. It has allowed me to learn more about where I live while also expanding my professional development.

Favorite restaurant in Gwinnett?

Maple Street Biscuit in Duluth.

Favorite activity in Gwinnett?

Going to Gwinnett Stripers games, because my husband is the Turf Manager, and our dog, Bentley, is the official/unofficial mascot of the Stripers.

Who or what inspires you to do what you do at Partnership Gwinnett?

It’s a great way for me to better understand and create a connection to the community that I just moved to.

What new initiatives are you working on?

I am currently assisting in the efforts involved in our International Story Map. This is an interactive map that will be housed on our website to allow viewers to see what kind of international companies we have here in Gwinnett and to also show where they are located in their respective international locations. I have also been responsible for tracking investor referrals/relations that we maintain throughout the year.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

My graduating high school class was four students, and I would love to open my own bakery or breakfast café.
