(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) October 23, 2015 – YSS ATHLETICS, Leader in the athletic apparel industry, joined The City of Snellville and Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development to announce the expansion of its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Gwinnett County, Metro Atlanta, Georgia. The announcement represents a major milestone for the apparel industry in Georgia and for the City of Snellville.

YSS Athletics’ relocation and expansion to its new facility located at 2110 Fountain Square, Snellville, Ga., has resulted in a doubling of office and manufacturing space. “Expanding within Snellville was key”, said President & Founder of YSS Athletics, Torey Rose. “We, including many of our employees, have long called Snellville home, so finding the right space here was critical to us expanding our presence within the community”.

Director of Economic Development for the City of Snellville, Eric Van Otteren, can recall the initial discussion regarding larger space for YSS. “When I first met Torey Rose and visited YSS Athletics four years ago, I was struck by her can-do, giving attitude and her focus on community.” The three year journey finally cumulated in the adaptive reuse of existing retail space in the heart of Snellville.

“I’m so grateful to our staff for being persistent, and I am so excited to finally officially welcome Torey and YSS to the City of Snellville” stated Mayor Kautz. YSS Athletics couldn’t be more thrilled with their new space, which includes state of the art design, print and sublimation equipment.

“This expansion reinforces our position as a leader in the athletic apparel industry,” said Rose. YSS Athletics uses creative methods in training and apprenticeship programs, including maintaining strong relationships with organizations such as Partnership Gwinnett, SCAD Atlanta and Gwinnett Technical College. Director of Economic Development for Gwinnett Technical College, Ann Sechrist, has been there every step of the way. “We are happy to have YSS in Gwinnett and Snellville. Their growth and innovation has been amazing to see,” stated Sechrist.

“Gwinnett County is the ideal location for businesses looking to expand in the Southeast,” said Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairman Charlotte Nash. “This expansion is a testament to our dynamic workforce, pro-business climate and opportunities for success. We look forward to YSS Athletics continued growth.”

“Gwinnett County continues to be a strong draw for manufacturing companies”, said Shantell R. Wilson for Gwinnett County Economic Development and Partnership Gwinnett. “It’s another example of Gwinnett’s success in retaining growing companies.

City of Snellville City Manager, Butch Sanders, is extremely pleased. “The retention of YSS in the Snellville area is a win for Snellville, YSS Athletics, and its employees. It is very encouraging to be a small cog in their continuing success.”
