Partnership Gwinnett Launches Five-Year Growth Strategy

Partnership Gwinnett, Gwinnett County’s economic and community development initiative, launched its fourth five-year economic growth strategy (PG 4.0) in partnership with EY Economic Development Advisory Services (EDAS) to recruit, retain and help expand businesses, attract, educate and retain workforce talent, and improve quality of life for county residents.

PG 4.0 will critically evaluate Gwinnett County’s competitive position and identify the industries and key assets that will be the focus of future economic development efforts. This plan will evaluate preCOVID-19 and postCOVID-19 strategies in hopes to accelerate strategic growth. The six-month process will result in a detailed action plan that aligns community development, economic development, and marketing activities to convene and catalyze economic growth.

EY’s Economic Development team, previously known as Avalanche Consulting, will facilitate the planning process. The Economic Development Advisory Services team has provided strategic planning services to more than 200 communities worldwide.

“Gwinnett County is one of the most exciting, diverse, and fast-growing communities in the country, and Partnership Gwinnett has done an astounding job fueling local economic growth,” said Tony DeLisiDirector of Strategy for Economic Development Advisory Services at Ernst and Young. “We look forward to helping plan a course that takes Gwinnett County to new heights in the future.”

This five-year economic growth strategy will lay out a road map for economic development within the county. Input from residents and business owners in Gwinnett County will be a critical part of the planning process. Partnership Gwinnett and Ernst and Young will take community input through committees, focus groups, personal interviews, and a digital survey – available through September 28, 2020. “Gwinnett County has grown tremendously over the past three decades and updating the community’s economic development strategy will continue this growth. This new strategic plan will connect the organizations and governments within Gwinnett County to remain an ideal place to live, work and play, said Andrew Carnes, Vice President of Economic Development at Partnership Gwinnett.
