(Gwinnett County, GA., June 22, 2026) – More than 90 student interns gathered last week at Partnership Gwinnett’s annual Intern Mix, an event designed to connect emerging talent with peers and the community while showcasing why Gwinnett is an ideal place to live, work, and build a career.
Hosted by Partnership Gwinnett, the Intern Mix serves as a cornerstone of the organization’s workforce development efforts, helping students establish professional relationships, learn business networking, and discover the opportunities available throughout one of Metro Atlanta’s fastest-growing and most diverse communities.
“As Gwinnett continues to attract and retain world-class companies and create new career opportunities, it is critical that we connect the next level of local emerging talent to the people, places, and experiences that make this community special,” said Kevin Carmichael, Senior Vice President of Partnership Gwinnett. “The Intern Mix is about helping students see a future for themselves in Gwinnett long after their internships end.”
As employers across the region compete for talent, initiatives like Intern Mix help strengthen Gwinnett’s workforce pipeline by creating opportunities for young professionals to establish roots in the community. By connecting students to peers at the same stage of life in addition to showcasing Gwinnett’s quality-of-life amenities, Partnership Gwinnett is working to ensure that the next generation of talent chooses to stay, grow, and contribute to the local economy.

The event is part of Partnership Gwinnett’s broader talent development strategy, which includes quarterly Talent Council meetings, the Workforce Forum, and a signature Workforce Summit. The organization encourages employers, educators, and community leaders to continue the conversation at the upcoming Workforce Forum on June 25 at the Junior Achievement Discovery Center in Gwinnett.
The Workforce Forum will feature keynote speaker Aaron Schoonbaert, Chief Operating Officer of Price Industries, who will share insights on developing strong talent pipelines and preparing the workforce for future growth. Attendees will also participate in facilitated roundtable discussions designed to elevate the voice of Gwinnett’s business community and identify solutions to the workforce challenges facing employers today.
